Riggins, ID

Tammy and I made the long day trip up to Riggins yesterday. I had my sights set on a couple projects I had been eying for quite a while. Unfortunately the typical spring conditions in Riggins made for a very humid and greasy day and I didn’t even try either of them. I did manage to FA an alright line just to the right of Brass Monkey though. The line is fair, not great, not bad but what amazes me is the fact that the Ruby Boulders are still giving lines of this quality after all these years. Are there any more gems there? I believe so! I counted at least half a dozen more lines that are worth doing there. Time will tell.

Later in the day I decided to throw myself at a problem I had deemed impossible for those without a six foot wingspan, LaFawnduh Sit. After I came up with some ninja beta I was able to send what was one of the most unique movements outside I have ever done. Check the vid below of both problems:

7 Devils: Extreme Mountain Bouldering

by scrappyv14 on Jul.06, 2009, under Climbidaho.com Blog, Riggins, Videos

Tammy, Bockino, Kaiya, Veseth and I went up to check out a new bouldering area deep in the 7 Devils mountains. This is the first area we started developing called Babylon. The hike in is well over an hour but well worth it. The rock is great quality and the scenery is second to none. We hope to make it back up there sometime soon. It would be nice to get a crew together so if you are in let me know. Here is the vid:
